Four suspected teenage members of a cult group, names withheld, have been arrested by the Police in Makurdi for alleged complicity in the murder of one Muhammadu Hudu at Udei Street, in the North Bank area of Makurdi town.
Recovered from the suspects were three locally made guns and two cutlasses.Also nabbed in the special raid on hideouts of criminals in the state capital were 15 other suspects, who were arrested for several robbery cases.
Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Makurdi, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Bashir Makama, said the individual cases of the suspects were still being investigated by the Police.
Represented by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent, ASP, Moses Yamu, the Commissioner said, “the arrests followed last week’s stabbing to death of one Muhammadu Hudu at Udei street North Bank and attack on one Benjamin Oryima along Gboko road.
“The Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, personnel in separate operations based on intelligence raided various criminal hideouts in the town and arrested 16 persons at North Bank and at Terwase Agbado areas of the metropolis.
“Also arrested for robbery were three other suspects, names withheld, by the Police on stop and search duty in Gboko, they were found to be in possession of a red Toyota Corolla car with number plates: GWA 462 FB, which was earlier stolen in Abuja.”
