NORTH KOREA confirmed its nuclear missile program was in its final stage and Kim vows to increase deadly missile Arsenal as Pyongyang ruled out peace talks with the United States in a terrifying announcement today.
The fresh warning to the US comes as Donald Trump is due to arrive in Japan today for the first stop off of his Asia tour.
Tensions over North Korea ‘s nuclear and missile threats continue to loom large over the region, with officials able to do little more than to sit and wait for Kim Jong-Un to launch the next missile test.
And President Trump has been accused of inflaming the situation with his war of words with the despot, after threatening to “totally destroy” North Korea despite calls for officials to remain calm to avoid antagonising the hermit kingdom.
Now in a shocking announcement today, Pyongyang vowed it would never back down as the regime revealed it is actually in “the final stage for completing nuclear deterrence”.The North’s state-run KCNA news agency said in a commentary that the US should be disabused of the “absurd idea” that Pyongyang would succumb to international sanctions and give up its nuclear weapons.
The commentary titled ‘Stop dreaming a daydream’ read: ”It had better stop daydreaming of denuclearisation talks with us.
“Our self-defensive nuclear treasure sword will be sharpened evermore unless the US hostile policy toward the DPRK is abolished once and for all.”
Along with trade talks, President Trump’s trip to Asia over the coming days will largely focus on how to muster more international pressure on North Korea to give up nuclear weapons.Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, he said: ”We’ll be talking about trade. We’ll be talking about obviously North Korea.
“We’ll be enlisting the help of a lot of people and countries and we’ll see what happens.
“But I think we’re going to have a very successful trip. There is a lot of good will.”
The president has rattled some allies with his vow to “totally destroy” North Korea if it threatens the United States along with his dismissal of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as a “rocket man” on a suicide mission. But today Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe repeated Mr Trump’s assertion that “all options are on the table” over North Korea, indicating military force could be utilised if any of the western allies in the area are threatened by Kim Jong Un and his regime.
And White House national security adviser H.R. McMaster, defended Trump’s colourful language in a briefing with reporters on Friday.
He said: ”What’s inflammatory is the North Korean regime and what they’re doing to threaten the world.”
North Korea has been issued with a dire war warning after the USA and South Korea held sabre-rattling military drills on the hermit kingdom’s doorstep.
North Korea frequently threatens to destroy Seoul and Washington in retaliation for these joint drills, which Pyongyang claims is preparation for an invasion.
But the USA and their South Korean allies are showing no signs of taking these threats to heart as they carry out yet another military drill.
The two-week exercise is taking place on Baengnyeong and Yeonpyeong islands, just south of the tense Korean border.
And the drills, according to Seoul-based news agency Yonhap News, will include a mock attack by North Korea – a doomsday scenario which the US and South Korea are determined to be ready for.The news agency said: “They have simulated a North Korean attack on the islands for the drill held in cooperation with fighter jets and ground forces.
“It’s focused on enhancing combined air power in the Korean Marine Exchange Program, joined by more than 50 South Korean marines and around 30 US marines belonging to the 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force, stationed in Okinawa.”
And three US aircraft carrier strike groups will also take part in separate exercises in the Western Pacific in another show of force. It comes as US President Donald Trump visits Asia with warnings about the North Korean nuclear threat and the drills will be used to send a message to despot Kim Jong-un .
Reuters news agency confirmed the drills but US officials refused to say exactly when or where they will take place.
NATO has issued threats to North Korea in recent days as Kim’s Western rivals step up their condemnation of the rogue state.Last Thursday NATO said it had the “capability and resolve” to respond to any attack from North Korea.
NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference in South Korea NATO was ready for an attack “from any direction”.
Mr Stoltenberg said: “NATO and our partners are deeply concerned by the threats posed by North Korea. We strongly condemn Pyongyang’s ballistic and nuclear tests.

THE North Korea nuclear crisis took another turn today when India refused to cut ties with despot Kim Jong-un despite pressure from the United States.
North Korea is on relatively friendly terms with India, with both states maintaining embassies in their respective capital cities.
While India is a critic of North Korea’s aim of becoming a nuclear power, the country still exports tens of millions of pounds worth of goods to the hermit state every year.
And a BBC survey in 2014 revealed almost one-quarter of all Indians believe North Korea is having a positive impact on the world.
In recent months the US has been pushing for India to cut ties with North Korea, a request which was slapped down today.India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said India only conducted “minimal” trade with North Korea and its embassy staff had already been pared down in recent years.
And in April, in line with UN sanctions due to North Korea’s nuclear tests, India banned almost all trade with the rogue state.
But today India refused to shut downits embassy, which is located in Pyongyang, a move which angered the US.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said this showed India was not serious about alienating putting pressure on North Korea to end its reckless nuclear war programme.
He said: “I think they just indicated they think that office has a value as a conduit for communications.”
Mr Tillerson said he was working towards better relations with India in spite of this issue. He said: “The US has had positive relations with India for 70 years but it is never quite moved to that next level, and I think that is in part due to actions on both sides.
“I had a very comprehensive discussion on economic and security links with Prime Minister Modi, National Security Advisor Doval, and Foreign Affairs Minister Swaraj.“It is essential that our two democracies work together to address the challenges facing our people.”
It comes after Russia put Western powers on alert with a series of missile tests – four of which were launched by Vladimir Putin himself.
Amid an ever-tightening spiral of threat and counter-threat on the Korean peninsula, Russia’s war games are being seen as a deliberately provocative show of force to Washington.
