Decades passes and the bells still rungs in our ears with empty promises of change to nigeria.
I couldn't believe it I heard people says, "Nigeria can never be good with democracy". I come to realized that it wasn't the democracy that was dragging Nigeria backward, it is the sense of political ideologies we build upon us by mere 'he says, she says situations'.
Leadership of a country like Nigeria with diverse natural resources and human resources can only handle to greatness by a laborious effort, determinations and insight in the will of democracy.
Akinboye Ogunola has this to say, _"Nigeria is a multilingua State. We all have Atiku and will want to contribute to his debate. To understand is to gain from the communicators language. I love this man's (Atiku) approach to the Nigeria project.
He's been pragmatic, sincere, outspoken with some deep knowledge of Nigerias problems. Political parties have dissappointed us, the military has derailed us, religious people have been bought over and can no longer have the claim "men of God", ..... If you have read this man's submission for a very long time now, you will agree he can move Nigeria and Nigerians.
He cuts accross political, religious and ethnic barriers.
I met him only when my uncle worked under him in Customs and had impressed me with his relations with co-workes and the like; my uncle still remarks up to this day that "he is always a friend with his co-workers and never a boss". He should try to gain the ticket to vie for Presidency and leave the rest to God and the masses.
LET HIS CRITICS WHO HAVE NO SOLUTION TO NIGERIA'S PROBLEMS GIVE HIM A BREATHING SPACE and I am sure the masses will vote him in. He could be likened to Sheu Yaradua who in his life time had all his friends across the Country. Leaders who promote tribal sentiments should be rejected in the next polls"._
We can only take Nigeria to the next level if and only if we accept the fact that, the greater dividend that we shall endure in democracy was to open up to the realities.
