7 Things You Can Relate To If You Were A Teacher’s Pet In School

Childhood was awesome except for the school and learning part.

Most grown-ups who remember their childhoods can agree. Maybe except those who were teacher’s pets and thus had the best of both worlds: fun at home and with friends as well as fun in school. Being a teacher’s pet was awesome back in school as it spared you from many things such as bullying from your mates. If you were a teacher’s pet back in school, here are some things you can relate to:

1. Special powers

Instead of the class captain, the teacher will ask you to write the names of noisemakers and you’re suddenly in charge. You’d now be raising shoulder up

2. Never getting bullied

Somehow your classmates who were bigger and stronger avoided bullying you because they know you will tell the teacher and get them in serious trouble.

3. Your classmates have a love/hate relationship with you

Half the time, your classmates don’t know whether to love you or hate your guts. When you remind the teacher about an assignment that’s due, the entire class will dislike you. And then the day you save the class from an impromptu test, you become everyone’s best friend. But you totally don’t care.

4. Getting worse punishment when you’re in trouble

People always wonder why you’re well behaved but they never understand that behaving badly earns you worse punishment than other people. Your favourite teacher takes it as an affront that you’re misbehaving.

5. Missing your special status during the holidays

This is because your special status as teacher’s pet is only in effect during the school year. And you miss it during the holidays when you have no choice but to mix with the peasants aka your classmates.

6. Special treatment

90% of the times you go to the staff room is to get a treat from your teacher. You get a bigger portion of the food your class made during practicals or your artwork is chosen to be hung in the staff room or principal’s office. Generally, you are treated specially.

7. You’re unofficial spokesperson of your class

You’ve gotten used to speaking to adults and are the unofficial spokesperson of your class. The teachers know you as the face of the class as you intercede on behalf of your classmates with the teachers.
