A Chinese man had to be rushed to a hospital after a three-inch glass cup got stuck in his buttocks. Yes, you read that right.
The cup, measuring seven centimeters, had been stuck in the body of the 33-year-old patient, known by an alias Xiao Zhang, for two days.
This led to doctors having to perform an operation in order to get the cup out after part of it had broken in the man’s abdomen.
The patient was said to have been rushed to the hospital after complaining of discomfort being experienced in his abdomen.
On arriving at the hospital, he told the doctor that he couldn’t retrieve the glass tumbler.
An X-ray showed a tumbler was stuck in Xiao Zhang’s rectum. It measured 3.15 inches (eight centimetres) tall and 2.8 inches (seven centimetres) wide.
Doctors had to operate on him to get the cup out
Dr. Cai Yonghua , a specialist in colorectal and anal surgery, said stated that the glass tumbler was located in the upper to middle section of the rectum.
The cup was stuck about seven centimetres (2.8 inches) into the rectum.
‘After injecting spinal anaesthesia to Xiao Zhang, he could directly touch the glass but it’s was too slippery to take it out,’ Yonghua added.

Yonghua and his team of doctors finally decided to perform an operation on Xiao Zhang’s abdomen to remove the glass cup from his rectum.
According to the team of doctors, if the surgery hadn’t been done the patient could have died of uremia, peritonitis or intestinal obstruction.
The patient is now said to be recovering.
Thankfully, it didn’t break completely inside him but, how did it even get in there to start with?
