The talk about making love does not die out in media or the privet lives of people. For many years the sex topic has been banned by the church and the community. That’s why Christians often believe these lies.
4 lies Christians believe about sex:
1. Temptation is bad
Sexual temptations are typical for all people. The temptation is not a sin; you have to understand that. Even the holiest people get tempted by their flesh, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. You can resist it by the power of the Holy Ghost and the Blood of Jesus.
2. Sexuality is for marriage only
Well, that’s a very common lie, and it breaks down the lives of people. There is this weird teaching that states: only in marriage people can be sexy, but before that they have to be asexual. How is this possible? Surely you should not be fornicating before or outside the marriage.
But you have your sexuality even before you mate. You feel sexy; you become sexually attracted or attractive to others. That’s how you find your mate in life! It’s great and do not let the devil rob you of it.
3. Purity is the matter of your body
Sex is not just physical. It is in your mind, too. So, you can abstain physically, but get engaged mentally by having fantasies or watching porn. Jesus said that if a man wants a woman he sees in his heart, he has already had sex with her.
4. Marriage meets all your sex needs
Some people believe that once they get married, they don’t need the perseverance of willpower in this area of their lives. They won’t have any temptations to deal with. That’s not true. You still would be tempted to have a side chick. You may have to abstain for long periods of time, when your wife gets pregnant and delivers a child, etc.
These devil’s lies rob Christians of the fullness of life and ruin their lives. So, learn the truth and let it set you free.
