Why Lagos Has Excelled Other Nigerian States In Developmental Strides In 16 Months Of Ambode’s Govt — Fatai Olalekan Lasisi

Mr Fatai Olalekan Lasisi, CEO Of De Soffit Consults Ltd, Lagos.The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of De Soffit Consults Ltd, Mr Fatai Olalekan Lasisi has applauded the achievements of his Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode Of Lagos State in the last 16 months of the administration, saying it has excelled other States in developmental projects.Speaking exclusively with SKYTRENDNEWS on Tuesday in Lagos during our maiden bi-weekly PERSONALITY INTERVIEW, Mr Lasisi, who is a Chartered Accountant, an experienced tax practitioner and alsoa Chartered Banker said Governor Ambode has performed excellently well, noting examples in the areas of security, road developments and the Lagos Light-Up projects.Mr Lasisi added that his brilliant and spectacular outing can be traced to the Governor’s all inclusive government, pedigree and unique visionary leadership style.“Lagos State under Governor Ambode has witnessed spectacular achievements and everybody know this. Even the blind can see it, he added. According to Lasisi, who has worked and retired in Lagos State Civil Service for 35 years before starting his consultancy business, “Ambode is a God-sent governor. He is a visionary leader and the policy thrust of his administration which is all inclusive governance is quite commendable.Asked why he thinks the Governor has done well in Lagos, he had this to say…“I make bold to say that Governor Ambode because of his pedigree andhis experience having worked in the local government level, having worked in the State level and in other various capacities would more than account for what he has achieved so far in Lagos and I know he has just started, we have not seen anything yet.”When SKYTREND NEWS asked him what laudable achievements he can ascribe to the governor, he said, “Mr Ambode is an extra-ordinary person. Given his background, his exposure, and his relationship with people, you will agree with me that he has done alot within 16 months. For instance, the light up Lagos project has illuminated virtually every nooks and crannies of Lagos and people are encouraged to do business anytime, to move around anytime they want.”Continuing he said, “Ambode is working towards making Lagos a 24-hour economy. Look at the security network in Lagos, the amount he has expended towards buying vehicles for security. For the first time in this country, Lagos invested about N6 billion towards security and you can see the relative peace we are enjoying in the state. This is quite commendable.”Mr Lasisi who retired as a director in Lagos State Civil Service started his Consultancy business about 5 years ago and he’s presently the Chief Consultant of De Soffit Consults Ltd, one of the three Consultants responsible for the administration of Land Use Charge in Lagos State.De Soffit has been responsible for the identification and assessment of all properties for the purpose of Land Use Charge within the Central Lagos Senatorial district.The company is also the only one responsible for servicing as the collecting authority and the only body empowered to levy and collect Land Use Charge within this area of jurisdiction.Mr Fatai Lasisi was our inaugural guest during the maiden SKYTREND PERSONALITY which is a bi-weekly profiling session featuring Captains of industries, Top CEOs, Managing Directors of Top Organisations, Business Professionals, Top Politicians who have a story to tell and acclaimed academicians.During the interview, Mr Lasisi who isalso a Chartered Stockbroker, spoke extensively on the Land Use Charge administration in Lagos State, what has been his organisation’s experience since he took up the consultancy, what the Land Use Charge is all about, the challenges involved in the collection process and how Lagosians have been complying with the payment.He also spoke on the avenues for Lagosians to explore if they have anycomplaint arising from alleged overbilling and or wrong computations of the Land Use Bill.
