Premier League Releases Player and Manager
of the Month Shortlists for September
The Premier League has announced a five-
man shortlist for the September Player of the
Month award, with none of the players
nominated ever having won one of the
league’s prize monthly prizes before now.
Liverpool star Adam Lallana, Manchester City
creator Kevin De Bruyne, Tottenham winger
Son Heung-min, Everton powerhouse Romelu
Lukaku and Arsenal speedster Theo Walcott
have all impressed with their club
performances over the last few weeks.
Fans can have their say on the winner until
10th October, with a public vote accounting
for 10% of the final result. A panel of
‘Premier League legends’ as well as current
club captains also vote for the winner.
The shortlist for the Manager of the Month
award largely correlates with the player
nominations, with Arsene Wenger, Mauricio
Pochettino, Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp
each joining one of their players in being
recognised for their work over the last few
weeks.
Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew makes up
the five after guiding his team to three
consecutive wins and a draw in an unbeaten
month for the Eagles.
As with the players, there is a public vote
open until 10th October that will determine
10% of the final result.
