A 30-year-old man in Taiwan has married his dead pregnant girlfriend after she passed away before their wedding.
Tsai Shang-chen symbolically placed a ring on Chen Yi-chi’s finger in the company of friends and family during the funeral service earlier this week.
Chen was 23 when she passed on at the end of August. The ceremony took place in Yuanlin City in west Taiwan.
The two had already had their wedding photoshoot before the actual wedding, a common practice in Taiwan.
The tearful ceremony saw friends and family holding pink and white balloons that were meant for the couple’s wedding, which had been set for October.
Shang-chen is a lorry driver and his girlfriend worked as a nurse at a dental clinic.
He said the ceremony was meant to honor Chen’s memory.
