A Nigerian man named Friday Njoku, has reportedly committed suicide, after stabbing his 25 year old fiancee, Cynthia Nwafia, to death, at her place on Number 5 Amachi street in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital last Friday.
It was gathered that the duo have been friends for some years and had already began their marriage plans, because Njoku had already gone to see Cynthia’s family, to inform them of his plans to marry their daughter. But however, Njoku who suspected that Cynthia was cheating on him confronted her but she denied the allegation, that led to an argument after Njoku stormed her apartment on the day of the incident and stabbed her with a knife she was using while she was cooking.
Cynthia was reportedly rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead and Njoku realizing the terrible thing he had done, ran to his house where he also killed himself and his corpse was said to have been discovered inside his room with blood gushing out from his nose, eyes and ears at 9am the following day.
The state police command’s spokesman, Loveth Oda, confirming the incident, said investigations have since been launched into the case.
