10 Nigerian celebrities that should consider stand-up comedy

That's how talented these guys are.
Celebs who can make us laugh like this

We have celebrities in Nigeria who are so good at what they are famous for already, but would also make for great comics if it came to being one.

Odunlade Adekola

Odunlade and Ada Ameh in ‘A Million Baby’

Arguably one of the best actors enjoying rave in the movie industry, Odunlade has featured in several roles and movies which have made him the most sought-after male act in Nollywood.

Numerous times, he’s proven to be a comic relief in many roles he has featured. As a matter of fact, Odunlade would beat any competitor hands down if there was to be an award for meme creator.

Odunlade would sure make a good stand -up comedian.

Olaniyi Afonja a.k.a Sanyeri

Sanyeri

Typical to his culture, Olaniyi Afonjaowns the heart of his fans when it comes to forcing out smiles – no matter the condition. Sanyeri came to light with his exceptional short but unique role in Funke Akindele‘s film, Jenifa, where he played the village champion.

Ever since the movie, Sanyeri has gone ahead to create a niche for himself in the yoruba movie industry with his character.

Timi Dakolo

Dakolo

Forget the serious, gentlemanly and classic style of his music, people close to Timi Dakolo won’t judge him by his music. From different sources, Timi could actually pass for a Basketmouth.

Ric Hassani

This wouldn’t have been possible to confirm without personally experiencing the other side of Ric Hassani.

While in NET‘s studio for an exclusive interview recently, we almost couldn’t contain his real character. Eric is funny, witty, free and definitely not your regular gentleman.

Stand-up comedy won’t be too hard for the tall R&B singer.

Funke Akindele

Popular from her Jenifa movies and subsequent Jenifa’s Diary TV series spinoff, Funke Akindele has the capacity to send many of today’s stand-up comedians extinct. Her expression, carriage, intonation and everything else would naturally send the oral cavity wide open even before speaking.

Ronke Oshodi-Oke

Couple of times she has anchored events for colleagues, Ronke Oshodi-Oke has proven to be a good compere that is just some professional brushing away from being a stand-up comedian.

Eniola Badmus

A trained theatre artiste, Eniola Badmuscan make ribs crack anytime she wishes. If she isn’t into stand-up comedy yet, her manager should get a call from ‘London’ for ‘a job- less- done’.

Kiss Daniel

Until he recently showed the world what he is capable of, who would have thought Kiss Daniel has the ability to entertain fans with comedy? After seeing two of his funny skits, one can confidently conclude Kiss Daniel is a comedian.

‘Were Wolf’ still get me rolling on the floor anytime I watch.

Olaiya

Ebun Oloyede, popularly called Olaiya, is one of the foremost actors in the Yoruba film industry. As a kid, I wouldn’t miss any film Olaiya featured in because one was guaranteed a very good laugh.

Olaiya delivers his characters with a comic touch, which makes him unique and hard to fault anytime he comes on screen.

Toyin Abraham

When she decides to go back to her Ibadan background, almost no viewer can afford to blink away from the screen.

Accurate in delivery, unique in style and always comical with roles, Toyin Abraham won’t need much from Funnybone before she can take the crown on a stand-up comedy journey.
