Okafor’s Law Box Office Earnings Up For Damages As Hearing Continues On Monday

Guys, the fight between Omoni Oboli and Raconteur Productions is not over.

According to a press release I just received, it has been revealed that the case on Thursday was for an extended injunction to stop the exhibition of the film pending the determination of the suit.

However, after counsel for the defendants claimed that tickets had already been sold to families and their children and the date had been widely advertised, the judge lifted the injunction

Raconteur productions insists they had sent a script with the same name and content to Filmone Ltd for a co-production in 2015, Filmone had sent back a letter to coproduce the film for the sum of N15 million. This letter of intent to co-produce was eventually withdrawn from Filmone. Surprisingly a

finished movie in the same name and content is being distributed by Filmone.

Also counsel for the 1st and 2nd defendants posited that in the event that the court rules in favour of Raconteur Productions Limited, the damages will have to be paid from the box office earnings of the film.

The hearing for the suit continues on Monday, April 3rd.
