Arsene Wenger Reveals Hidden Truth About Luis Suarez Failed Arsenal Transfer

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Luis Suarez almost joined Arsenal in 2013, barring a bizarre £40,000,001 bid for the Uruguayan.

The former Reds striker was in an electric form at Anfield but started employing several antics sparking transfer speculation over his future at the club.

The Gunners also tried to sign Luis Suarez in a rather weird attempt tabling a £40,000,001 for him, which was rejected by Liverpool, despite the North Londoners meeting his reported £40m release clause.

However, the 30-year-old joined Barcelona in 2014 for reported £75m fee and became a fan favourite at the Camp Nou due to his impressive performances alongside Lionel Messi and Brazilian star Neymar Jr.

Arsene Wenger has now come out to lift the lid on the failed attempt to lure Suarez to the Emirates in 2013, he told beIN Sports: ‘He was very close (to signing for Arsenal),

‘We had an agreement with the player. We had been wrongly advised that he had a clause, with a minimal clause, but we had an agreement with the player. You can ask him

‘I’m convinced he wanted to join us and then they sold him. They kept him one more year, improved his contract and promised to sell him the year later to a club abroad.’

Arsenal have been criticised for their approach to transfer dealings which has caused them to fail into their numerous attempts to sign world stars.
