4 Die, Others Injured In UK Parliament ‘Terrorist Incident

Four people were confirmed dead yesterday while several others sustained injuries after Britain’s Parliament was locked down following a “terrorist incident.” The attacker, whom several witnesses described as a middle-aged man, reportedly charged at police officers outside the Parliament with an “8-inch” knife before being shot.

Sources told the Independent the assailant is “Asian.” “We heard a loud bang, lots of shouting and men running around. Someone rushed through, attacked a policeman,” a witness said. “He appeared to be carrying a knife or a gun. We then heard gunfire, five or six rounds.”

The House of Commons, which was in session at the time, was immediately suspended and lawmakers were asked to stay inside. House of Commons leader David Lidington told BBC that the “alleged assailant was shot by armed police” after the “serious incident.” But he said he could not go into further details until there was confirmation from the police and security authorities. Lidington said an air ambulance was at the scene to take away casualties.

TV pictures showed traffic halted on the nearby Westminster Bridge and emergency vehicles swarming around as the busy bridge was completely shut off to traffic.Prime Minister Theresa May was safe after the incident, a spokesman for her office said. He declined to say where May was when the attack took place. Authorities later confirmed that the police officer, two civilians and the suspected attacker were dead. Eyewitnesses recounts the incident. “There were some with minor injuries, some catastrophic.

Some had injuries they could walk away from or who have life-changing injuries,” said Colleen Anderson, who is a junior doctor at St.Thomas’ Hospital. Finance Minister Philip Hammond described it as a “horrific attack.” PMB Sympathises with Britons over London terrorist attack President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned yesterday s terrorist attack near the United Kingdom Parliament Building at Westminster, London.
