Akpos walked to his CEO’s office, took a seat
when beckoned to do so, and said, breezily,
“Chief, you need to double my salary!
I have three companies chasing me right
now.”
After a lot of back and forth, Akpos settled
for a 20% pay increase.
On his way out, the CEO asked, “Just
curious: who are these three companies
looking to poach you?”
Kwame paused, and said: “Poach me? Not
exactly. Izwe Loans are threatening to sue;
NEPA just threatened to disconnect my light;
and Nigeria Home Loans want to repossess
the house!”
